Crew 2024 review-a comedy heist movie

Crew is a 2024 Indian gold-heist comedy movie starring Tabu, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Kriti Sanon as air hostesses, with Diljit Dosanjh and Kapil Sharma in supporting roles. In Crew, Geeta Sethi (Tabu), Jasmine Kohli (Khan), and Divya Rana (Sanon), flight attendants for the struggling Kohinoor Airlines, face financial hardships due to unpaid salaries. Geeta supports her husband’s struggling food business and her brother’s family, Jasmine maintains a flashy but fake lifestyle, and Divya, hiding her pilot training, struggles with education loan repayments. The sudden death of a senior colleague draws them into a gold smuggling operation led by their HR Head, Mr. Mittal. Initially, their financial woes ease: Geeta invests in her husband’s business, Jasmine redeems her grandfather’s ring and indulges herself, and Divya pays off her loans. However, a customs tip-off and the eventual bankruptcy of Kohinoor Airlines lead to a crisis. Discovering that the airline’s owner, Vijay Walia, used the smuggling operation to escape to Al Burj with ill-gotten wealth, the three women, now repentant, resolve to return the smuggled gold to India to compensate the unpaid employees.

Crew is packed with humor and is appropriate for all age ranges. I enjoyed the plot from start to finish, but wished there was more to the concluding scene where Divya landed the plane with the gold in her hometown. Divya’s semi-boyfriend, Jai, who was a customs officer and had already parted ways with Divya due to her involvement in gold smuggling, suddenly appeared to help conclude a major gold heist. Yes, there was a single flashback scene of Divya calling Jai before the heist, but there was no detail of the conversation. Given how Divya and Jai had initially parted ways on the note of law enforcement (Jai) and criminal (Divya), it is important to let us know what Divya actually told Jai to convince him to be their getaway driver for a major heist. Since Divya chose to land the plane in her hometoen, alternatively, the plot could have involved a local in Divya’s hometown being contacted to be their getaway driver. Aside from this minor reservation, the movie is a good one. Watch Crew trailer below.
